Here is an excerpt from the article cited above “Along with the elderly, people who have disabilities or chronic health conditions are at higher risk than most people of complications and death from COVID-19, the illness caused by the novel coronavirus. The risk seems to be compounded by age, but some health conditions by themselves may put us in danger. The stakes are very high for society at large. The stakes are individually high for disabled and chronically people.”
I am a disabled individual as many of you may know, and my biggest concern is “How do I keep my hands clean?” Being that I have to propel my wheelchair touching my hand rims at all times. Even if I wear gloves the germs will get on the hand rims. Then once I take my gloves off and wash my hands How do I clean my hand rims to prevent the spread of germs, bacteria, which can ultimately lead to infection. I am sure this is a common dilemma for wheelchair users and possibly individuals that use crutches daily. I would love to hear from other individuals in the community on what is your technique on preventing the spread of germs!!!!!
